In November 2020, Greater Good Institute and AltruVistas will be leading a diverse group of impact-driven leaders and travelers on a journey to Cartegena, Colombia.

For this impact retreat, we’ve partnered with AltruVistas, a sustainable travel company specializing in socially responsible and philanthropic travel experiences. For each journey, 50% or more of every tour dollar stays in and benefits the host economy. Additionally, donations are built into each journey in order to benefit local partners and collaborator organizations.

The 9-day advocacy journey will give travelers the unique opportunity to experience the stunning natural beauty, extraordinary diversity, culture-rich and kind people of Colombia, and the rare opportunity to broaden their awareness about the global issue of child trafficking.

On this journey, learn about the inspiring work being done on the ground and meet with NGO leaders, government officials and other advocates who are working every day to protect women and girls from violence and exploitation. During our journey, we’ll also learn how the travel industry and businesses can play a role in preventing child sex trafficking and human slavery.

Travel for Good

Our tour leaders are passionate about the people, guests, and communities we serve. Whether traveling solo, with a friend, or a small group, our guides are with you every step of the way. Our personal experiences, thirst for adventure and burning desire to contribute to the greater good serve as the basis for how we travel.

We shall tread right upon the earth and make our travels matter.

Standing up for

Children’s Rights

In 2017, with the guidance of Altruvistas and
ECPAT-USA, a non-profit working to end child
exploitation, our founder, Lori Heisler embarked
on a 30-day advocacy journey to Singapore and
Thailand. Wanting to gain a better understanding
of how businesses and individuals could best
support the end to child trafficking and human
slavery, Lori spent time with global leaders and
advocates already championing the cause.
